Gunite and concrete swimming pool repair guides

Concrete and gunite pools are essentially the same thing. Gunite is simply the application method used to place and shape the rough concrete structure. Gunite, often called shotcrete is the process of spraying concrete with a high pressure hose. The other method of concrete swimming pool construction is to form and pour the concrete similar to the process used in general construction. Both gunite and form and pour methods have advantages and disadvantages, but ultimately end up in similar finished products.

Concrete and gunite swimming pools are more difficult to repair than the average vinyl liner swimming pool due to the nature of concrete working. A working familiarity with concrete, or the desire to learn is recommended for many of the concrete and gunite pool repair guide subjects.
